What is limestone paving?

What does calibrated limestone mean?
Calibration makes the underside thickness more consistent, helping an installer control bedding depth. It does not make every slab perfectly identical or prove compliance with a particular standard. Natural face texture, dimensional tolerance and colour variation remain part of the product.

How should limestone paving be installed?

- Excavate to suitable ground and provide a stable, well-compacted sub-base appropriate to the site.

Powered cutting of paving can generate hazardous dust. Cleaning limestone paving
For routine care, sweep away leaves and grit, rinse loose dirt and use a pH-neutral or alkaline cleaner specifically approved for limestone when water alone is insufficient. Test products on a spare or inconspicuous slab and follow the manufacturer's dilution, dwell-time and rinsing instructions.

Does limestone paving need sealing?

Why can black limestone turn grey?
Black limestone can gradually become lighter as its surface weathers outdoors. Patchy lightening can also involve acid etching, installation contamination, deposits, cleaning history, abrasion or an unsuitable or failing sealer. These causes should be separated before choosing a treatment.
